About Caroline

Caroline Weinroth is a musician from the Washington, DC area. She has a Masters of Fine Arts in Poetry Creative Writing and a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Audio Engineering, both from George Mason University. Caroline has taught group and private music lessons since 2016.

Caroline is the lead singer, guitarist, and songwriter for Cinema Hearts. Cinema Hearts has performed at concert halls and rock clubs, including Lincoln Theater, The Atlantis (9:30 Club), Kennedy Center, Smithsonian Museums, Arena Stage, AMP by Strathmore, Black Cat, DC9, and more. With Cinema Hearts, Caroline has toured to the SXSW Music Festival in Austin, the Sled Island Music Festival in Calgary, New York, Nashville, Philadelphia, and other cities. Cinema Hearts has been featured by Rolling Stone, Spotify Fresh Finds, Bandcamp New & Notable, Washington Post, Consequence, and other publications.

Caroline is passionate about creating all-ages performance spaces and empowering independent artists. She has organized open mic nights and concerts with Girls Rock camps, Fredericksburg All Ages, Music Production Club of GMU, and local schools. As a “DIY” independent artist with a background in music, theater, poetry, film, modeling, and audio engineering, Caroline knows the ins-and-outs of jumpstarting a professional performance career.

 

Guitar:

A guitarist for nearly 10 years, Caroline taught herself chords and then took private lessons to learn how to play scales and write solos. Caroline gained notoriety for performing electric guitar as her talent in the Miss America/Miss Virginia pageant. She was a guitarist for Woman in E, by artist Ragnar Kjartansson, at the Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum. Since 2017, Caroline has volunteered with Girls Rock camps, leading group guitar classes for youth and adults. Caroline is a brand ambassador for Yamaha Acoustic Guitars, showcasing their instruments on social media.

 

Voice:

Caroline studied musical theater voice technique in high school and college. In addition to singing with Cinema Hearts, Caroline has also sung for community theater productions, National Anthem performances, and studio recordings. She has attended open-call auditions for American Idol and The Voice.

Piano:

Caroline trained in classical piano and performed at the sonatina-level in solo recitals and competitions. Her mother was also a piano teacher. In piano lessons, Caroline learned to read sheet music. Caroline continues to use her piano skills to record synthesizers and arrange vocal harmonies.
